Fun Day in Lancaster

What a great day at Bark in The Park in Lancaster, California on October 7th, 2006. It was an all day event in the beautiful 80 degree weather. Located 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles, Lancaster was the spot to be on that day with pups of every size and shape. Contestants came from far and wide to enjoy and have fun. Some of the cities represented included San Diego, San Francisco, Tehachapi, Lancaster, Panorama City, Barstow and Las Vegas, Nevada. The dogs were jumping all day long. When the dogs were not jumping the competitors and the crowd had an opportunity to participate or view confirmation, flyball, agility, disc dog, all the doggie vendors and treats and much much more. Over 100 different dogs took a big splash in the pool on that marvelous day.

Some of the crowd pleasers on that day included from San Diego area Brian Sardo and his beautiful and cuddly pit bull, Maximus. Maximus put on a great show for all throughout the day with magnificent altitude and jumps in the 17í ñ 18í range.

Nevada the Border Collie and Shari Robinson from Panarama City were getting warmed up for upcoming events and showing the crowd what a border collie can do when it comes to jumping off the dock. Nevada was jumping big, submarining into the pool with leaps of 20í and more time after time.

Letís not forget Melissa Ness out of the Ramona, California area and her little Black American Staffordshire Terrier, Bubbles. Bubbles was doing her great ìSupermanî jumps, time after time in the 15í plus range in this fun day. Stryker was there also having a good time.

A resident from Buena Park, Cindy Sanchez was enjoying the day with her four legged
Sadie. Sadie the yellow lab was having a ball and getting in as many jumps as she could. Labs once again dominated the event but there were many mix breeds and rescues enjoying the Splash Dogs pool and water.

This event would not of been possible without our volunteers for this event who spent their time wrangling and helping out the newer people. A big Splash Dogs thank you to Lisa Heitmiller, Candis Amasalian, Stacie Giambastani.
