I'll be there all 5 days with Renegade and Jasper.

Looking forward to warm sunny weather, dock jumping, getting to watch my friends compete in agility and visiting with my sister and parents who live in Phoenix/Prescott.

I'll be there, and I'll be bringing both Tonka and Ida for a change :D

Tonka will get to play on the dock a bit, and hopefully Ida can do a few laps around the pool to keep her happy. Her recheck appt with the Surgeon is next Wed and we are sure hoping for a full release to go back to work  She is very much looking forward to her freedom to play again. Hard to believe it has been a full 6 months since her back surgery

Hey, theres a brand spanky clean Cabelas in town too! Can't wait for my shopping spree!!!

Hey All, Dont count Stryker and Bubbles out! Change of PLANS. Looks Like WE are CynoSport bound

So let me get this right SV and Small Dog????

WOW! how a few hours can change a person life.

Melissa,

It is the desire of Splashdogs to run SV from pool level and not 2' above the water level.

In Scottsdale there will be a dock at or slightly above the water level that SV will be ran from.

Hey everyone

I have a change of plans. Marty is coming up with me & the 'kids' and we are coming up on Thursday so we've got another day of jumping-whoopee!

BTW, Greg, you wanted a little bio on our dogs so here goes(even though you probably know my 2 beasties by now). After 2 failed events of no jumping last year, Dunkin, my chocolate lab, has taken to 'jumping' off the dock since Wags. We spent the whole day perfecting his jumps at Lancaster and I think he might hit 4' in Scottdale.  He has 2 little Splash legs and I'm hoping he'll title in the Splash class then. Best news-he is "Having FUN". In addition to dock jumping, he started taking agility classes in August & is dieting & 'training' to get some weight off and maybe start jumping 'big' like his hero, Jasmine.
Phoebe, my black Lab, spent this year climbing from 8-12' range to hitting a PB at Wags with 23' 6". She loves all things athletic & really misses her dock jumping since she has been on rest since she hurt her back a couple months ago. :( I will let her jump once in Scottsdale and she how she does.I'm hoping there is Course A'lure at CynoSports cuz she really loves that, too. Boy, can she fly! She also does agility & is in her third Agility trial next weekend going for Level 2.

OK, I think we all need to get together and convince Ursula to come. We all know that she has a habit of saying she can't come and then finding a way!

Come on Urs - you can make it! Gunner, Twiz and Sassy don't want to be done jumping for the year. Think of it as an early christmas present for them...

In Scottsdale there will be a dock at or slightly above the water level that SV will be ran from.

Excellent Idea!!!!
That is what we did at the last event . I keeps the pups from hitting the pool bottom. It worked out great that way.

When is this event? What are the dates. We have a plane ticket left to use. Couldn't think of a better use than to head to Arizona and see some Splash Dog friends!!!

Sardo
10-19-2006, 12:39 PM
It is from NOV. 1st to the 5th. It's going to be a huge event and all types of activities to do for the pups. You should really consider!!!!

Most definately going to do all I can to make it!!
I got one round trip ticket, but I don't know if My Wife-Mom-babysitting gaurdian Megan will let me take off again this soon. Just recently got back from a Hunt trip to Montana.
I'll try. The funds are so low right now is the only thing holding us back!! This rain is messing things up. That's why I'm here on this and not out there doing what I should!
Definately gonna try!!!!!

Hey BrYan! :D

Great picture of San Fran! You know, if you look real close in one of them I'm in there busy at the registration table! I was probably filling out some form for throwing 2x4s into lights!

Love Ya!!

BOcephus
10-19-2006, 08:01 PM
Amanda,
If my memory serves me correct it was not from the low ceiling lights that fell onto the 2x4.
Everyone,
The gal at the table is Amanda writing up one of the nicest guys I myself have ever met. For doing a good deed!! :x He was simply looking out for everyones safety. :) He had thrown a stick in the pool and it sunk! ! Never knew sticks in CA. sunk!! He simply jumped in to bring it out safely so it would not create a safety factor. 8) He was simply looking out for the well being of his fellow competitors. 8) Then that lady at the table Wrote him a bad letter saying he was a bad man!! :x I mean this guy was willing to help out at anytime. I think I heard that he sacrificed a trip to the San Juan Islands just to go to that event. What a guy!!! I heard rumor that a couple gals from New York along with a few others took him out the night before and got him intoxicated.  Shame on them!!!! :o
They kept ordering him these licorice tasting drinks called Jager something with Ice Tea's. He still swears there was something besides Tea in those drinks because he could not remember much of the night after the tangle with that big guy that was harrassing Barb from NewYork!! :o
So he had been tricked into drinking alcohol. So much that memory loss had accurred, mix that in the morning with a very loud event room with incredible low ceiling with big lights that had no covers on them. I can spell disaster about twelve times out of that!!!!!
Then when this incredideblly nice, good looking guy happens to make a bad throw , under all those circumstances, That mean lady gave him a nasty letter. I saw him over in the back weeping for hours. He is real emotional. I think due to his former childhood celebrity status??
But he became a trooper and carried on with the show. I had a hard time talking him out of his revenge he was nearly prepared to carry out. She would have been in some serious deep Doo Doo if I had not talked with him. I heard that lady does not work for those other people from the east coast anymore. She met a nice California guy last I heard. Sure hope he can tame that gal!!

I am in the final hours of trying to get the trip confirmed. Now, I'm just waiting on a call from my sponsor to help kick in some $$ and need to work the kid issue. But, I would say right now, I'm 85% sure that I will be going to Scottsdale!!! :D :D

Flyin' Hawaiian
10-20-2006, 04:44 PM
Wow, it would be so cool if the Flyin' Hawaiian could make one last appearance.

Alas, this is the last week for Mom's job, and Dad still needs to work 24/7 to wrap up work before heading to Los Angeles for a 9 day visit with her human sisters on Nov. 20th.

Besides, Mom has to pack up the apartment and get it loaded on a container for Hawaii. Hope she remembers to pack up the toy box!!

Well, this will be the last week of practice at Sparks Marina this season for H3D, and our last practice before heading to Hawaii.

Good luck to everyone at Scottsdale!!

To all our friends in Splashdogs' land, a big MAHALO (Thank You) for letting Randy, Ka'ua and I become a part of your lives. We will miss all the enjoyment we have had at the competitions, and we will definitely miss all of you. You will always be in our thoughts and hearts.

Again, thank you Splashdogs for the honor and privilege of being inductees in the Splashdogs' Hall of Fame.

If we (sans Ka'ua) are ever in the area of a Splashdogs event, we will stop in to say HI.

Tony and Randy Woods, if we can find a venue in Hawaii, we will do our best to start up a club. Then maybe entice you to bring the judging equipment to Hawaii for a competition!

Okay, got off the subject. Again, everyone, good luck, but most of all HAVE LOTS OF FUN!!!

Aloha,
Randy, Mary and Ka'ua

Rain in Phoenix, are you kidding? I lived there for 2 years and the so called "river" never had water in it and they actually have roads that go through the river. Rumor has it that most years for a few months the river does have water, but I'm not buying it :)

I remember one time when it started raining as I was coaching soccer and I tried to get the kids under a roof and they were running around outside with their faces turned up like it was the first snow of the year.

OK, now seriously, it does rain on occasion in Phoenix, but mostly just in the winter. I would say that there's no way it'lll happen, but then I'll jinx us...

I know I don't know you, but I'm always willing to help out a fellow dock dog! I'll be in phoenix from 10/31-11/6 with my car staying at my sister's so I could be persuaded to do taxi duty if someone offered good cookies to my dogs (and maybe put a magic spell on my so I could throw the dang toy consistently).

Sandra,
You, Jim and Mickey D are more than welcome to come stay with us under the bridge, down by the river.. I'm sure there will be plenty of room. I haven't got even one reservation comfirmed yet. :(
I was hoping to make a few extra bucks by renting out a few spots to out of towners. I decided on leasing the grassy area from Slim. {A guy I met last month.} He was hitchin back down to Scottsdale after his vacation to the King county Truckstop and poolhall. Said he would lease me the small grassy area for the weekend. He lost some money on pool or something at the truck stop so I got a pretty good deal. He stated Property there is high dollar stuff. "If you want grass you must pay"he said.
Says a few stragglers come in every now and then but they are usually so drunk they don't harm ya.
Let me know if you are interested.
I don't know how the different little creatures are at night there but don't worry I am bringing some OFF and a bug zapper for the BIG ones that BITE :P
We may need to build some sort of a shelter because of it being located next to the treatment plant. But Slim stated that you get used to the different odors after awhile. "The drunker you get the less you smell", he says. He even told me where his stash of MD-20/20 was.
How cool is that!!
Well hopefully we'll see ya there!!!!!!!!!!!!

MickeyD'sMom
10-23-2006, 03:44 PM

Thats the best offer I've had (and only) If I make it I will pay extra for the grassy area. We don't have to worry about sleeping as we will all be chasing MickeyD around!!!

Well, I got into Phoenix last night and went over to help Tony set up today (Tuesday). He had both pools up and filled and when I left this afternoon they were just finishing up putting the carpet on the practice dock and the super v/baby dock. The whole site looks great and I'm excited to see things get going tomorrow!
